I make no secret of how much I love beach sessions and everything about them. But the truth is, every season brings something amazing to the table around here. It seems to me like we can complain, endure and live in a constant state of looking 3 months ahead or we can embrace the beauty of winter right now, even if most of us are all set with winter by mid January. I have always loved the airy and sometimes ethereal light in winter and when you add some snow to that, it’s hard to not find it all kind of magical. Let’s be clear–I am not saying that I enjoy hanging out in subzero temperatures for long stretches of time. Typically, I just volunteer to head inside before anyone else so that I can make the hot cocoa for everyone, kind soul that I am 🙂 But it really is worth bundling up and getting outside to soak up some of this gorgeousness, even in short spurts before it’s completely gone and we’re on to spring.
This session was indeed a short spurt–a mini session with little Olivia in one of my favorite pockets of the Fells. I first photographed Olivia in the Public Garden when she turned 2 in the spring and then again at her baby sister Arianna’s newborn session in the fall. We managed to sneak in a few shots of Arianna and mom, Erin at the end but this was really about capturing Olivia in this gorgeous morning light.
If the snow sticks around, my hope is to have the chance for more winter mini sessions so be sure to email me if you want to be contacted when/if these should happen!
