Charlie

Laurie is the cousin of another client whose family I’ve photographed several times and she reached out to me about newborn photos for her baby, due in April.  Laurie originally hails from Honolulu and her husband Stacy is from New York and they now happily call Boston their home with a fabulous view of Kenmore Square as a bonus.  I got to meet little Charlie when he was around 2 weeks. Laurie’s sister and her mother in law were visiting so Charlie had lots of admiring fans and there lots of extra hands ready and eager to hold him as needed.

It was a windy day but mild enough that we had to take advantage of their amazing roof deck and the city view. Whether we were inside or outside, Charlie was an easygoing little guy who napped a bit, hung out awake for a while and was perfectly content when the Natalie, the family dog joined him for some snuggles.

At the very end, we decided to take our chances and went for a bare bottomed shot of Charlie in Laurie’s arms but he decided that it was actually a perfect time to empty his tiny bladder all over his mom. (See  the last shot in the photos below)   It was a perfect final shot and a good reminder that really, once a baby joins a family, there’s no question as to who is calling the shots anymore!
