Cooper was born just before I was leaving town to head to Disneyworld for a week and I was so happy that his mom was up for a session just six days after he arrived. Anytime in the first 2 weeks is great for a newborn session but it’s especially fun to get to meet a baby when they are under a week old. For one thing, they do tend to be sleepier and more relaxed but I really just like the experience of capturing the family as close to the beginning of the baby’s story as possible. Everything is new and while moms and dads are just beginning to figure things out when we shoot that early, I enjoy being able to capture that part too. In this case, Cooper was actually joining an older brother so his parents were well versed in rocking, swaddling and all of the other tricks that come in handy. Still, a new member of the family changes things quickly and suddenly can make the toddler in the house seem enormous and much years older than he was just days ago. It’s a bit of a juggling act in the first few weeks when there are two small people with vastly different but ever present needs but Angie and Brandon had it covered and made it look easy. Here are just a few of my favorites from our time together!
