Daphne’s 1st Birthday

I photographed Daphne as a newborn last spring and then again in the fall. Last week, I had the chance to photograph her first birthday party at the Little Lovage club in Boston. First birthday parties are a funny thing. Of course, it’s a day to celebrate the child and smother her with kisses from relatives and friends and indulge her in cake. But really, it’s as much a milestone for the parents and especially first time parents.  I love to see the look of pride of the faces of moms and dads, who have come through the first year of parenting relatively unscathed and forever changed for the better.  Cheers to Whitney and John and happy birthday to Daphne!
