Jennifer and Luca

A month or two ago, Jennifer scheduled maternity photos and a newborn session with me for her little one due in April.  Maternity photos can be done in so many different ways these days and like a lot of moms, Jennifer wanted to include her toddler son and her husband.

We opted to go with The Fells which is a beautiful location year round but we had to postpone our first scheduled maternity session because it was supposed to be around 15°.  Because we were scheduling a maternity session in New England in March,  Jennifer knew that it would almost certainly be chilly but she also wanted to take her coat off for the photos and we all agreed that 15° might be pushing it just a little bit.

The next date that we selected turned out to be pretty chilly as well and we had just gotten about 9 inches of snow but in the end, the temperature was more than tolerable (especially for her little one who didn’t even flinch!) and the snow on the ground made for a beautiful backdrop.

It was lots of fun getting to know this family and seeing how much fun they all have together. I distinctly remember the last couple of months of my pregnancy with my second daughter and how I really relished those last outings with my oldest, knowing that our time together was going to look  different  very soon.  I can’t wait to see this family again at their new baby’s newborn session in just a few weeks.   Here are a few of my favorites from the maternity session:
