I met Lianne and David in the winter of 2011 and did maternity photos for Lianne and then newborn photos of John when he arrived. Since then, I’ve photographed John several times and last year, I did newborn photos again when his little sister Maren arrived. This time, we met at the home for a session to capture John at 3 and Maren at 8 months.
I loved everything about this session. I loved that we were in their home, the place that matters most of all to little ones. I loved that John never once stopped moving and that he didn’t have to put on a fancy outfit or even socks for that matter. I loved that Lianne specifically decided to have Maren wear a simple onesie so that we would really see her as the baby that she still is and so that we could capture her deliciously plump thighs. I loved that John was playing with trucks on the floor while the movie Cars played and Maren was happily nursing when I arrived because that is exactly what a Saturday morning should be.
The big news is that John is in a big boy room now so of course we hung out there for a bit, but the main agenda of the morning was just to capture a slice of what life looks like these days because next year at this time, it will look different. I love how Lianne and David appreciate that and always go with the flow. Also? They’re sometimes known to smooch mid-session, which is totally encouraged.
